Mercury Glass Footed Bowl

Wonderful larger scale suggests possible purpose of a wine glass or goblet. Wide and open round bowl with simple knob on stem, beneath. Intact foil seal on underside of foot.
Victorian Slate Game Board

Spare, linear and highly graphic incised slate checkerboard with quarter-fan decorations at each of its four corners. The matte gold paint that fills all of the incised lines is a lovely contrast to the color of the blue-gray slate. Countersunk holes at corners indicate prior attachment to a wooden frame (tabletop). Pennsylvania, circa 1880s–1900s.
