Whimsical Antique American tinsmith-made weathervane and roof finial. Four-part stacked construction: square pyramidal base, turned collar and cup, hollow globe, and central rod with rotating pennant flag above.
Flag is a long forked/swallow-tailed form with great motion and freely rotates on tapered spire.
Sheet iron and tin. Remnant paint (black and later white) on some surfaces.
