Carved Linen-Fold Panel

A single linen-fold panel in very fine low relief.

The cloth flags left and right from a central bossed rod, the fold pattern terminating top and bottom in lyrical scrolled detail — the whole composition symmetrical on both axes.

Carved maple (I believe), stained or finished in a warm brown and oxidized. Old brass screw eye at top for hanging. No maker identified.

Perhaps 1920s.

Dimensions

9.75 x 23.5 inches

Condition

Surface shows handling wear, minor scratches, and some darkening at lower left. A hairline crack is visible at lower center.
