Black and White “Private Property” Painted Sign

Very expressive lettering on this folky hand-painted “Private Property” sign. The lettering is in black enamel which has lost some of its shine and contracted in spots. Dimensional lumber plank with visible pencil guidelines over old white. Single-sided with unpainted back.
Red and White “Cucumbers + Cabbage” Painted Sign

Super folky hand-painted farm sign advertising Cucumbers and Cabbages (odd combination). The paint is interesting because the letterforms appear to have been already painted when its maker added the white. The effect is that some edges seem to dissolve blurring the boundaries between the foreground and background Single-sided with unpainted back.
“Sodapop” Painted Sign

Fun, folky, hand-painted “Sodapop” sign. Dimensional lumber plank with visible pencil guidelines over old white. The lettering is in deep, glossy red. Single-sided with white paint on the reverse.
