American chip-carved tramp art picture frame in very dark original surface, professionally fitted as a shadow box to accomodate a 45-star printed parade flag on pole, circa 1896–1908 commemorating the statehood of Utah.
Flag measures 9.75″ wide by 6″ tall
Sealed back and linen-lined interior, approximately ½ inch deep. Molding slightly over 2½ inches wide, chip-carved with ten layers.
Wear and condition as expected with age. Six pieces of the top-most layer on the square stacks are missing.
