Birdseye Maple Picture Frame with Gilt Liner (18.5 x 21.5)

Early birdseye maple ogee picture frame, circa 1840s–50s. Densely figured veneer in a bright amber tone, with a gilt liner and possibly original wavy glass. The ogee veneers have had surfaces cleaned and restored; the outer edge along what was presumably the top retains an older, darker original finish. Remains of an early label on the reverse at the bottom.
