Crossed Laurel Quilt

Offered is this antique, circa 1850 “Crossed Laurel” quilt from a Philadelphia area estate.

Finely executed appliqué in patterned fabrics. Latticed quilting in white fields between laurel fronds and an undulating feathered vine in all four borders.

Dimensions

74 x 76 inches.

Condition

One small hole at folded edge (pictured). Spotting and light moisture stains. Two leaves exhibit fading toward yellow (visible top, left of center). Overall the top side of the quilt is lightly toned. Washed.
