Magnificently observed in egg tempera is this depiction of āspring beautiesā and a bed of moss on the Catskill forest floor. This painting is dated “6/07” on the frameās vapor barrier.
Initialed āGBā lower right.
Gail Bunting (1947-2018). Self-taught and with a lifetime of studying nature, Bunting referred to herself as a naturalist who painted. Raised in the Hudson Valley, her parents taught her a love of woodland flowers and a tender regard for all small creatures… something evidenced by all of her work.
Iām honored to have been entrusted with a small collection of works by our friend Gail Bunting.
Egg tempera on paper mounted to archival board. The painting is top-mounted onto colored mat board and in the frame that Gail chose for the piece.
3-1/2" x 5" (5-3/4" x 7-1/2" including frame)
